About me

Hexagon Portrait 2

I consider myself a life-long learner, constantly looking forward to “what’s next” and how I can continue to develop and grow.  I’m a designer at heart, highly detailed-oriented, with a passion for creating visually appealing instructional materials. I love to create, edit, and present materials that catch and keep the learner’s attention, and aid in knowledge retention.

What sets me apart? My genuine can-do attitude towards any ask. I do not dwell in mistakes from the past but move forward with the new knowledge and experience I have gained from them. I know it sounds cheesy but somehow my ability to remain in the present has allowed me to keep my mind open to the opportunities ahead.

You will find examples of my work as well as a blog which chronicles my feelings on the Instructional Design and eLearning industry, inspired in part by some other great resources. Like most of you reading this I don’t consider myself an expert because I know there is more to learn out there and I appreciate any person that is willing to share their knowledge with me.

I live in Denver, CO. You can talk to me about E-Learning, Design, Food, Spanish (or any other language), and what’s happening in the LGBTQ community. My passions outside of the professional realm include traveling, cooking, kickball, entertaining at home, being outdoors, and eating, but not necessarily in that order.

What I do now

Hexagon Portrait - B&W

Most of my professional experience is in contact center operations and training. Most of my experience comes from working in the healthcare industry for Centura Health at a contact center that supports multiple primary care clinics in the Denver, Colorado region, offering exceptional referral management and nurse triage services. I founded the contact center’s Training and Development department responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training for non-clinical staff. My other responsibilities include: employee education, classroom facilitation, new hire on-boarding, process optimization and implementation.

I transform complex, unorganized information into clear and effective multi-media instruction to best engage the learner. I am practiced at coordinating with key subject matter experts during design, development, and deployment of learning programs. Experienced creating and enhancing E-Learning, videos, infographics, and more as learning solutions.

Currently, I work as an Instructional Designer at OpenTable / Kayak with an extraordinary Learning & Development team. I am so proud of the work we continue to achieve for this organization and I’m looking forward to growing as a professional in this industry.
